Riverside Community Caucus Membership

If you are interested in participating in Village government political process, please consider joining the Riverside Community Caucus. To Join you must be a Riverside resident and a registered voter. New memberships are accepted by the Caucus at its regular meetings. Membership terms run for 4 years and can be renewed.

The Caucus is generally active only during the 7 months leading up to the Village government elections held in early April every other year. The time commitment during off years is little to none; a meeting during this time would rarely be called to conduct business.

During election seasons, we ask that members attend Caucus meetings to elect the Nominating Committee, to vote on the Candidates for office put forth by the Nominating Committee, and attend to any other business agenda items. Further participation is up to you. There are numerous opportunities to actively participate in the election campaigns every two years. We highly encourage active support from our membership during campaign cycles.

Remember that the sole purpose of the Caucus is to seek out and present the best possible candidates to serve as Village Trustees and President. The Caucus never sets or endorses policy platforms or takes stands on issues. The Caucus can only succeed by being inclusive and non-partisan and by finding and supporting candidates for our Village Board who are broadly representative, capable and committed to informed deliberation and decisions, and available to serve.

Caucus membership must be equally diverse. The membership of Riverside Community Caucus is split into 6 geographical districts covering the Village. Each area has up to 15 members, including a District Chair Person. We currently have openings in most areas, and try to have balanced community representation from each area.

The Caucus is an independent, all-volunteer organization. Therefore, we must be self-supporting. Members are asked to pay the nominal amount of $20 annually as membership dues to cover operating costs.

If you are interested in becoming a member, or if you are a current member interested in a position on the Board or as a District Chairperson, please contact membership@riversidecaucus.org, or mail to:
